Update

Two weeks without a post! What has been happening I wonder. Well every so often I have a flurry of activity on ebay, this time selling two kayaks for a good sum and buying one other to replace the kayak we had stolen last year. That, together with the Youth Alpha course that we are involved with at church, plus numerous other things - such as knocking holes through kitchen walls (Lynn is getting restless!) - and my first cold for ages has kept me from regular postings. Kitchen changes will feature shortly I expect. Watch this space...

Another baby photo!

A duty trip to Portsmouth last week afforded me the opportunity to visit my grand daughter - and her parents - lovely she is! She is one month old today!

Call that snow!

We have been enticed into almost praying for snow, what with Grandma in Durham sending us pictures of her garden knee deep in the stuff, and having to resort to roasting robins for dinner (only joking); but finally Dartmouth has lured the snow clouds far enough south to leave us with an offering that has brought the world to a stand-still in the South Hams! Still, it has been fun, and Lydia actually made it to school after an hour on the bus, only to find it closed for the day - an action announced well after Lyds had caught her bus.

Sophia at 2 weeks

Not more baby pictures I can hear you say - sorry, yes, and a lot more to come I have no doubt! We drove down to Portsmouth the day after boxing day to deliver Lynn for a week of granny duties. It was lovely to see Sophia and her mum and dad again. Sophia has a soporific effect on all who hold her - or so it seems. Also in the photos, 3 sisters!

Christmas 2009

The traditional Christmas Eve picture in front of the tree was posed for by Lydia and Julia, this year wearing their stockings! Christmas morning dawned bright and cold in Dartmouth and we enjoyed celebrating the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ with our dear friends at church. We looked briefly at Anna, an elderly but godly widow who witnessed our Lord when he was presented at the temple when just a few days old. We were challenged by Anna being where God wanted her to be; that she gave thanks to the Lord God for Jesus; and that she told others about the arrival of the promised Messiah (Luke 2:38).

Slapton Sands

After delivering Lydia to a friends house so she cold have a girlie flix & kebab night, we took advantage of driving back home along Slapton Sands to stop and take a quick stroll down the beach. This is such a lovely stretch of coast!

Sophia - first Grandchild

We thank God for the safe delivery of Sophia Grace to our daughter Hannah and her hubbie Dan on 17th December. We have all had a cuddle and look forward to enjoying being grand parents!
